Die Verwendung von Photovoltaik-Solarmodulen zur Stromerzeugung wird sowohl in Großanlagen als auch in autonomen Systemen mit geringem Energieverbrauch immer häufiger. Um die erzeugte Energie optimal zu nutzen, sollte das Modul daher immer am Punkt der maximalen Leistung (MPP) betrieben werden. Ziel dieser Arbeit ist es, einen Vergleich zwischen zwei Techniken zur Verfolgung des Punktes der maximalen Leistung (MPPT) anzustellen: der traditionellen Störungs- und Beobachtungsmethode (P&O) und der Methode mittels Fuzzy-Logik. Das Photovoltaiksystem wurde in MATLAB/Simulink® so modelliert, dass es die V-I-Kennlinie des PV-Moduls darstellt, die auf den in den Katalogen für handelsübliche Photovoltaikmodule verfügbaren Daten basiert. Anhand der Simulationsergebnisse wurde eine vergleichende Studie zwischen den Steuerungstechniken durchgeführt, die zu dem Schluss führte, dass der Fuzzy-Controller eine bessere Leistung und Effizienz bei der Aufrechterhaltung des MPP zeigte als die auf der P&O-Technik basierende Steuerung.
