How few are the Christians who 'shine as the stars for the justification of many,' though born in Christian families for many generations, and brought up in Christian knowledge and experience! Thus, she was born in a Brahmin priestly family, lived with all the wealth and influence, then lost everything, became the scorn of the clan and the scorn of the world. If a woman, especially a handmaiden, deserves the blessing of grace, oh, the matchless mercy of our Lord Jesus! Kokila, lying under the hearth, became a white dove with wings adorned with silver. Boiled in hot coals, the thief rescued from the fire became a ’burning and shining lamp’. Clarinda was blessed by the darkness like Mary Magdalene was blessed by the seven devils. She was the first Indian evangelist to introduce Arulnathar in this Tirunelveli country as the privilege of seeing the resurrected glorious Christ for the first time. She was the first to support the congregation, she built the first church, she appointed its first preacher, she established and supported the first school, she appointed its first teacher, she formed the first Christian family, she is the mother of Tirunelveli Church. What a great blessing!
