Unfinished Business

Unfinished Business: A Celebration of Black Life, Love, and Institutional Memory explores the lives and interactions of a blended African-American family confronted with the re-emergence of a biological parent driven by previously suppressed needs which have unexpectedly come full circle. The parent has an agenda which ultimately destroys relationships and wreaks havoc in her life and the lives of those affected by her choices. Through backstories of various characters, the reader embarks on a journey colored by infidelity, illegitimacy, rape, racism, sexism, sibling rivalry, death, and the challenges of living with ill-advised decisions and their impact beyond the antagonist. At its core, Unfinished Business is about family and what it means to a cast of characters whose wants, needs, and desires provide the themes inter-woven into the fabric of this narrative. 3
