Humanity has finally found the world it has been searching for. The problem is surviving it.After decades among the stars, Scottie Sanders and Dr. Naomi Reyes have learned one lesson better than most: a world does not have to look human to be alive-and survival does not automatically grant ownership. When the starships Pioneer Dawn and Starlight discover Meridian, it seems almost too good to be true.Blue oceans. Green continents. Rivers and forests. A breathable atmosphere. A familiar cycle of daylight and darkness. For the first time since humanity left Earth, they have found a planet that looks like home. But Meridian has been alive for millions of years without them. When a survey expedition ventures deep into the planet’s wilderness, an approaching storm becomes only the beginning. Strange airborne spores threaten the biological members of the crew. Massive migrating animals transform the landscape without warning. Predators are drawn to human technology. Floods cut off escape routes. And beneath the mountains lies an ancient alien waystation whose builders studied Meridian thousands of years before humanity arrived-and apparently decided not to stay. Then the expedition becomes stranded. With one crew member fighting for his life and rescue increasingly uncertain, Scottie, Naomi, and their companions must survive a planet that is neither evil nor hostile. It is simply indifferent. And every hour they remain on Meridian forces them to confront a larger question:Just because humanity can live on a world, does that mean humanity should change it?Filled with planetary exploration, survival, ancient alien mysteries, interstellar adventure, and thought-provoking questions about humanity’s place among the stars, The Green Horizon continues Scottie Sanders’ journey into a universe where the greatest discoveries often create even greater questions. The Green Horizon is Book Three of The Far Horizons Series.
