It involves the pirates of Lundy Island, corruption in Ireland, a gang of London murderers and a king who made dreadful decisions.In 1238, England was reeling from economic and military shocks. A huge ransom had been paid to rescue King Richard the Lionheart. His brother, the evil King John had lost England’s key territories in France and failed to uphold the rights enshrined in Magna Carta.Louis, the Dauphin of France, had invaded England and King Henry’s supporters had barely managed to defeat him with the Pope’s help. Just as Henry thought all was well, came yet another nightmare - the Mariscos.
