Tecnologia Assistiva no Âmbito da Engenharia

This project studied the concept of Assistive Technology, proposing and developing situations in which engineering is involved with this topic. In studying this subject, a more in-depth analysis was also proposed, encompassing knowledge about the categories and projects currently being developed. Technological solutions based on everyday cases were taken into account to support people with physical or mental disabilities. Topics such as 'Computer accessibility resources,' 'Orthotics and Prosthetics,' 'Assistance for the blind and deaf,' among many other subjects, were studied. The purpose of the project was to develop ideas to provide people with special needs with greater independence, quality of life, and social inclusion. The importance of this topic in society is essential. In everyday life, there are countless cases of neglect of people with disabilities, and this topic addresses these problems. The project was carried out in order to direct this study towards engineering and demonstrate how much it can help in Assistive Technology.
