Summerhill was a lovely, quiet town until the discovery of a hot spring that was located a few miles from Albert Sheppard’s property. It wasn’t long before news of the hot spring’s healing qualities had reached people from far and wide. With this news, tourists began arriving and the only hotel in Summerhill was stretched beyond its limits. Albert Sheppard, who lived close to Summerhill Station, decided to open his home as a bed and breakfast. His daughter, Katie, who some described as unstable, did not like the idea of strangers in her home. She preferred the quiet, undisturbed life she had become accustomed to. Katie didn’t have a choice and soon the Sheppard’s Bed & Breakfast grew in popularity. Everything was going according to plan as tourists flocked to Summerhill eager to experience the soothing hot springs and explore their beautiful surroundings. Katie, who had been against her father’s plan to open their home to strangers, began exhibiting what some would call ’bizarre behaviour’. Katie, who had an imaginary sister for as long as her father could remember, could be overheard by the guests talking to her. It seemed that whenever Katie felt anxious, her imaginary sister would appear. Fanny had been in and out of Katie’s life since she was just a little girl. At first, most believed it was just a figment of a child’s overzealous imagination and dismissed it as something she would eventually grow out of. But as she got older, the visits from her imaginary sister increased and soon she would lead Katie in a direction that no one saw coming. Katie may have been rude and antisocial at times but no one had any idea that this delicate 23-year-old had a dark side until certain events begin to happen. The outcome would leave the residents of Summerhill horrified and looking for answers. 3
