Die vorliegende Studie hat zum bestehenden Wissensbestand im Bereich der spezifischen Lernschwierigkeiten beigetragen, da der Analyse der psychologischen Komorbidität im Hinblick auf die geschlechtsspezifischen Unterschiede bei den psychologischen Reaktionen auf die Behinderung bisher wenig Aufmerksamkeit geschenkt wurde. Diese Studie kann als Leitfaden für Kliniker bei der angemessenen Auswahl der Psychotherapie für lernbehinderte Mädchen und Jungen dienen. Lehrer können ihr Verhalten im Lichte der Ergebnisse dieser Studie ändern, da ihr Verhalten eine wichtige Rolle bei der Entwicklung oder dem Umgang mit psychologischen Komorbiditäten bei lernbehinderten Kindern spielen kann.
