SON TRAP Revenge is a dish served hot. Polly’s discovery that her husband, Edward, has been having an affair with her close friend, Judith, for years transforms her into a ruthless woman consumed by the desire to seek revenge and to seek it in a unique and explosive fashion. Determined to destroy Judith and all her family members she cunningly singles out Douglas, Judith’s middle son to be her unwitting accomplice. Judith, unaware of the discovery, is busy preparing for the wedding of her eldest son and trying to keep her youngest son in line revising for his A level examinations. Her husband is somewhat self-absorbed with his own professional difficulties, and her lover Edward, has revealed he may be seconded to Australia in the near future. The threat of his departure is very disturbing. The day of the wedding arrives and Polly is seen to be behaving strangely. Following the ceremony and speeches she gathers Judith and other members of her family together and with Edward in tow leads them to a small room away from the reception. What she then reveals shatters the life of everyone present. From that day forward nobody can ever be the same. The memory of Peter’s wedding and the date of that day marked a division in their lives. All that went before now tarnished with deception. and lies. Ten years on we discover the true impact of that day. All have been affected in different ways and no one remains untouched. In quiet moments their thoughts will lead them back and emotions thought hidden rise once more.
