The main thesis of this book is that synchronicity and the miraculous are best approached simultaneously and enrich one another tremendously when held together. Although synchronicity and the miraculous are related phenomena, understandings about the relationship between them are relatively unexplored by scholars and healers in the various fields of depth psychology and theology in particular. More specifically, synchronistic events possess their own gently marvelous effects, and prepare us to sense the more powerfully transcendent dimension of life, which miracles so brilliantly display. The method of integration used in the book is applied to three levels of depth psychological theory - the intra, the inter, and the trans levels of theory. One of the major conclusions of the book is that although trans elements of psychological reality are embraced in certain important approaches of depth psychology, theology, and African American approaches to the Bible and biblical psychotherapy, the fuller reporting of synchronistic and miraculous phenomena (and the relationship between these phenomena) in these various approaches appears to be rejected, ignored, or muted. The study concludes by proposing a number of exciting and challenging new areas of research.Dave Asomaning received a B.S. in biology from Yale, a secondary school science teaching certificate from Southern Connecticut State University, an M.A. from Hartford Seminary, an M.Div. from Yale Divinity School, and a Ph.D. in depth psychology and religion from Union Theological Seminary in New York City. He received his clinical training in individual, marriage/family, and group psychotherapy at the Blanton-Peale Graduate Institute also in New York City. He is the founder of SynchroMind, an executive coaching, consulting, and seminar company. His next book is entitled Nightmares to Miracles: Miracle Mindsets for CEOs, Executives, and Entrepreneurs to Transform Adversity into Success in Health, Wealth, Love, and Enlightenment.

Three particular themes are basic to this study. Second, and closely related to the first tenet, man is not separable from his environment. We all share in this...
