Inhaltlich unveränderte Neuauflage. Auf der Suche nach Heilung, Erfüllung und Glück bieten Spiritualität und Psychotherapie verschiedene Wege. Beide Seiten betrachten einander jedoch oft mit Skepsis. Diese Arbeit erforscht ebenjenes Spannungsfeld in diesem Grenz­bereich. Stellvertretend für die spirituelle Seite steht hier „Satsang', eine Aus­richtung innerer Selbsterforschung, die ihre Wurzeln in der indischen Phi­lo­sophie des Advaita-Vedanta hat. Seit 20 Jahren bieten auch westliche „Sat­sang­-Lehrer' erfahrungsorientierte Einführungen an. Mit halb-strukturierten Interviews werden acht „doppelte Experten' aus­führ­lich zum Thema befragt. Alle acht gehören zum Kreis im Westen etablierter Sat­sang-Lehrer. Sie verfügen ebenso alle über Erfahrungen mit Psy­cho­therapie. Einige haben selber Synthesen spiritueller und psycho­thera­peu­tisch­er Arbeit entwickelt, zwei davon werden im Ausblick vorgestellt. Der Hintergrundteil gibt einen einführenden Überblick über die wichtigsten Be­griffe und Richtungen beider Bereiche. Dieses Buch richtet sich an Forscher und Praktizierende beider Richtungen so­wie an interessierte Laien. Es arbeitet Vorurteile beider Seiten ab und zeigt Mög­lichkeiten zu wechselseitiger Inspiration auf.
