ROOM: A Sketchbook for Analytic Action is an international interdisciplinary magazine conceived as an agent of community building and transformation. ROOM 6.20 is a special epistolary edition featuring a global community response to COVID-19. ROOM has grown from a local community action to a transmedia platform that attracts worldwide submissions and readership in over 100 countries. ROOM has been honored with the NAAP Gradiva Award for New Media Promoting Psychoanalysis and supported by the International Psychoanalytic Association (IPA), the American Psychoanalytic Association (APsaA), and the Community of Literary Magazines and Presses (CLMP) for our outstanding content and transformative community mission. ROOM’s innovative and accessible forum brings different perspectives to bear on the complex problems facing us, while inviting greater familiarity with psychoanalysis as an important lens for personal, cultural, and political discourse. ROOM has built a robust network of psychoanalytic institutes and organizations around the world while bringing the relevance of psychoanalysis into general community awareness.
