Les questions environnementales constituent aujourd’hui des défis majeurs pour la survie de l’humanité. Les écosystèmes aquatiques, précisément ceux continentaux, font l’objet d’un intérêt particulier à travers de nombreuses conventions inter-états. De nos jours les ressources en eaux potable sont fortement réduites suite à une augmentation démographique accompagnée d’une forte industrialisation. Les rejets de micropolluants d’origine variable (pesticide, colorant, métaux lourds......) dans l’environnement ne cessent d’augmenter. Les colorants, présents dans les rejets de l’industrie représentent un véritable danger pour l’homme et son environnement, en raison de leur stabilité et de leur faible biodégradabilité d’où le souci de développer des procédés qui sert à la préservation des ressources hydriques contre la pollution par le traitement. Parmi les nombreuses techniques d’élimination de colorant, la technique de l’adsorption est la méthode la plus favorable, elle est devenue une méthode analytique de choix, très efficace et simple dans son utilisation. L’application des adsorbants naturels pour le traitement des eaux est une voie légitime pour la réduction des teneurs de quelques constituants chimiques des eaux.
