Resignificar la violencia es fruto de una investigación sobre el pensamiento político de Maurice Merleau-Ponty. En los seis capítulos del libro, la autora presenta el debate de Merleau-Ponty con otros pensadores (Maquiavelo, Husserl, Hegel, Marx, Sartre, Lúckas, entre otros) en un contexto social y político marcado por la violencia de las dos guerras mundiales, la unilateralidad ideológica de la Guerra Fría y el colonialismo.El objetivo de esta contextualización es explicitar cómo, desde un análisis fenomenológico prereflexivo, el autor francés elabora una comprensión de la praxis política, vinculada a otras ideas relevantes en su pensamiento filosófico. De tal modo, surge la necesidad de que el concepto violencia sea puesto entre paréntesis, para luego descubrirlo como parte del entramado de nuestras relaciones colectivas, que anteceden postulados y teorías político-filosóficas. Así, la violencia reaparece como un fenómeno social fundamental de la vida política y supone atender a una multiplicidad de dimensiones que interactúan en nuestra historia. 10
