Physical and chemical measurements traditionally include such types of measurements that are designed to determine the values of quantities associated with energy, industrial production, ecology, and health protection. These are: determination of the pH of aqueous and non-aqueous solutions; determination of the concentration of electrolyte solutions by potentiometric analysis, conductometric method and methods of optical-physical measurements; determination of the composition of gas mixtures by gas analysis and chromatographic methods. The materials are addressed to students of standardization, metrology and certification specialists who improve their qualifications in the field of calibration and verification of physical and chemical measuring instruments. It can be useful to specialists who carry out verification and calibration of measuring instruments, as well as to a wide range of specialists involved in measuring the concentration of solutions, as well as determining the composition and properties of gas mixtures.Modern concepts of physicochemical methods for measuring quantities are considered. The main attention is paid to the theory of physicochemical methods of analysis.
