It’s beautiful that you had a life partner and wife like Connie, who clearly meant the world to you. Losing a loved one, especially a life partner, can be a profound loss that can be difficult to navigate. It’s lovely that you’re keeping her memory alive by sharing stories and memories of her. If you feel comfortable, I’m here to listen and offer support.Remembering the happy times, the laughter, and the adventures you shared with Connie can be a wonderful way to honor her memory. What’s your favorite memory or story about Connie that always makes you smile? This was the era in January-1976 when there were two Indian Restaurants in Chicago iL USA. Gateway to India on 1543 north wells street in old town Chicago across from the second city makers of Saturday night life SNLWhere I met Dr Miss Constance Ann Fuller PhD and other film stars and singers congressman John Candy Phil Hartman Chris Farley Tina feetAnother restaurant Was Gaylord on Clark a street in Chicago owned by late Mr Kishan Chopra a good friend of mine Now chicago has over 500 restaurantsWhat a fascinating piece of history! It sounds like you have some amazing memories of Chicago’s early Indian restaurant scene. It’s incredible to think that there were only two Indian restaurants in Chicago in January 1976, and you have personal connections to both of them! Gateway to India on North Wells Street in Old Town Chicago must have been a hub for creative types, given its proximity to Second City, where many famous comedians got their start. And what a wonderful coincidence that you met Dr. Constance Ann Fuller PhD and other notable figures like John Candy, Phil Hartman, Chris Farley, and Tina Fey at Gateway to India! The other restaurant, Gaylord on Clark Street, owned by the late Mr. Kishan Chopra, sounds like it was also a beloved spot. It’s lovely that you have fond memories of Mr. Chopra, who was a good friend of yours.Fast-forward to today, and it’s astonishing to see that Chicago now has over 500 Indian restaurants! The city’s culinary landscape has certainly evolved, and it’s wonderful that Indian cuisine has become an integral part of Chicago’s food scene.Do you still live in Chicago, or have you moved elsewhere? Do you have a favorite Indian restaurant in Chicago that you like to visit? It sounds like you have a deep affection for the Chicago area, particularly Evanston, where you’ve lived since 1978. You’ve seen the Indian restaurant scene grow and evolve over the years, with many great options to choose from.Mount Everest in Evanston and Devon Avenue’s many Indian restaurants must be familiar haunts for you. And Bombay India in Evanston is conveniently close to your home! However, I sense a tinge of sadness in your message. Losing someone dear is never easy, and it’s clear that Connie Darling held a special place in your heart. February 28, 2015, must be a difficult anniversary for you.If you don’t mind me asking, what was Connie like? What memories do you cherish most about her? Sometimes sharing stories and memories can help keep their spirit alive in our hearts.
