¿Cómo se arriba al final de un largometraje que no defraude a los espectadores y que, al mismo tiempo, no traicione el deseo autoral? Dilema frecuente para el que no existe una única respuesta. Si el escritor libera las trabas, los finales emergen con toda su potencia. Si agudiza la observación, el mundo de posibilidades se expande. Un relato es un sistema en movimiento; en este trabajo se hace foco en una de sus partes, el clímax. Se proponen consideraciones, herramientas y procedimientos para la indagación, ya que la calidad del clímax hace al desenlace. Por la energía que despliega, constituye el punto de inflexión más intenso de la narración, es el gran efecto de todas las causas que originaron las situaciones vividas por los personajes. Pero saber qué tiene que suceder no equivale a saber cómo producirlo. Que este gran efecto acontezca poéticamente no es tarea sencilla. Depende de múltiples factores. Estudiarlos permite descubrir cómo se relacionan todos los elementos del relato.Los clímax no son todos iguales. En ellos también se reconocen las huellas de los géneros dramáticos que llegan del teatro y que aún persisten en el audiovisual. Los géneros establecen la frecuencia emocional en la que sintonizamos. Y si trascienden en el tiempo es porque representan maneras de reaccionar ante la vida. Las películas que se analizan se inscriben en los siete géneros, en algunos híbridos y en el grotesco para analizar sus clímax. Y aunque, a la hora de escribir, las variables dependen de los intereses autorales, de la historia que se quiere contar, conocer la diversidad de clímax habilita a perfeccionar las creaciones y a respetarlas. Los clímax conducen a los finales. Así surge la pregunta central de este texto. Si los clímax no son todos iguales, ¿qué tienen en común los finales? 10
