Carlos, el tío de Alejandro, es el único que escapa de la dictadura y que, a través de sus aventuras en distintos países de América, llega al ansiado país del norte, su anhelada Nueva York. El fin del mundo, es el viaje de un joven Alejandro por el sur de Chile en el que nos enseña su amor juvenil, la amistad verdadera, la crueldad y la avaricia del ser humano.
