La dificultad al escoger cuáles textos llenarían las páginas Jugar al sol (más de 13 historias de René Rodríguez Soriano) residió precisamente en esto: no se escogieron los cuentos atendiendo sólo a su calidad formal, puesto que debimos entonces escogerlos casi todos, sino a su representatividad, a que transmiten una idea precisa al lector de una forma de narrar, la del autor, placentera antes que nada en la forma, independientemente de la historia que se cuenta, lo cual parece en desuso hoy día.
