John Denver was one of the most popular performing artists of the 1970’s. He released more than three hundred songs, composing about half of them himself. Denver hosted a television series and performed in movies.He was named ’Poet Laureate of Colorado’ in 1977 and his song Rocky Mountain High was named as a state song for Colorado in March 2007.John Denver used his musical talents to make the world a better place. He expressed his belief in the power of music this way-'Music does bring people together. It allows us to experience the same emotions. No matter what language we speak, what color we are, the form of our politics, or the expression of our love and faith, music proves we are the same.'
