Le malattie infettive sono comuni negli anziani e rappresentano una fonte significativa di morbilità e mortalità, oltre che un costo aggiuntivo per la sanità pubblica. Lo scopo del nostro lavoro è stato quello di determinare le caratteristiche epidemiologiche, cliniche e paracliniche delle malattie infettive negli anziani. Attraverso uno studio retrospettivo comprendente 30 pazienti di età superiore ai 65 anni ricoverati in un reparto di medicina interna di Tunisi per infezioni, riportiamo un polimorfismo semiologico ed eziologico. Sono stati riscontrati diversi fattori di rischio che favoriscono l’infezione: polipatologia, polimedicazione, denutrizione, diabete, anemia, età avanzata maggiore o uguale a 80 anni e trattamento immunosoppressivo.
