No one is immune from sickness or death, that’s life. No one is immune from having to go under the care of a doctor or medical facility. That’s reality. Seeing how these factors are pretty much the norm, it becomes critical that we go into these experiences with our eyes wide open and our minds focused on what is acceptable and what is not. So often we just throw caution to the wind and have faith that the medical staff is the best at what they do. What other choice do we have? We certainly don’t have the knowledge to do it ourselves. We have no other options. Let me assure you that the vast majority of medical professionals are going to take great care of you or your loved one. They will apply their expertise to create an outcome that will make you believe that we here in America have the absolute best when it comes to health care. And trust me, we do. This book isn’t about that vast majority. It’s about the very, very small minority that will also be taking care of you or your loved one on occasion. You’re going to read some very disturbing scenarios in this book. Unfortunately, they are all true. After reading this book, do not come away with an absolute fear of hospitals or doctors, but come away with a better understanding on how you can become involved in you or your loved ones care. Ask questions, be involved, don’t just assume because there is an MD, or an RN on the nametag, that all is well. Like I said, all is probably well. But in order to keep things that way, be involved!
