Kieran Reaney has studied numerous subjects including Computers,English, Sociology and Philosophy. He also studied Poetry at the Irish Writers’ Centre, Dublin in 2001. He is a past member of the Galway County Heritage Forum; Tuam Pen Club; The Tribes Macra na Feirme Club and PRO for Caherlistrane-Kilcoona Community Council. Along with his twin brother Padraic, they were co-editors of the Caherlistrane-Kilcoona Newsletter from 2006 to 2010. He has played many sports including Gaelic football, basketball, volleyball, handball, badminton, soccer and athletics. Among his many medals is a bronze medal for the County Galway U-16 Shot Putt Championship final. Kieran has taken several of the built and natural heritage photographs for this book.Padraic Reaney qualified as an Electrician when he was twenty and worked on a number of contracts in Thermo King Europe Ltd. In Galway city. Since the year 2000 he has done numerous courses and was conferred with a Diploma in Community Development Practice from N.U.I.G. in 2005. He was involved with Tuam Community Development Resource Centre for five years and assisted on many of their publications. He was also on their Management Committee for one year, and a member of Caherlistrane-Kilcoona Community Council for four years. He planned the lay-out of this book and has studied English and Psychology. In 1978 he won two County Championship Athletics medals in the Long Jump and the High Jump, a County Galway Community Games medal in the High Jump, and a Connacht Championship medal in the Long Jump. Later that Summer he competed in the All-Ireland Athletics Championships in Thomond College in Limerick. 3
