Enjoying Relationships

Welcome to a newer, simpler, and more effective path to forming and building enjoyable relationships. I dedicate this book to everyone who suffers from navigating through the bitter struggles of painful and ineffectual relationships. Whoever you are, whether you are a college student or a new hire just beginning your career, it is not fun to be involved in relationships which drain your emotional energy and characteristically produce more turmoil than satisfaction and disaster than joy. Do I hear an Amen?I wrote this book for everyone who at some time or other were faced with the challenge of transforming disappointing relationships into something kind and respectful. I guess this is most of us wouldn’t you say? This, of course, means that we had to overcome the 'strangeness' of some people in our lives whom we could not understand regardless of our efforts to do so. If you have ever been or are now in this kind of tension generating situation, this book is for you. If you cannot relate to this kind of disappointing situation, this book is really for you. I wrote this book for everyone who occasionally looks at their lives and murmurs to themselves that 'my relationships really don’t make any sense. I just don’t get it. Many of them are all so difficult. What a mess! I just don’t get it.'Well guess what? A lot of people just don’t get it, especially the ones who think they do. If you get it, answer me this: Are you one of those persons who would feel better about life if you could only encourage other people to become your friend? Yes, I am asking you if you are the kind of person who is good for other people? Are you really a good enough person for someone to take a chance on and invite into a social relationship? Simply put, should colleagues and other people form a personal relationship with you? Will you be good for them, or only good for yourself? Also, will they be good for you? Whatever the answer, the question is why? What do you think? Have you ever thought about your character and its impact on other people? If not, you probably already have your answer about whether people should form a relationship with you. Some people are good for others and some people are bad for others. We all know that. The question, of course, is why is this so? As we ask these questions, do they ever lead us to question ourselves? For example, what kind of people are good for us and what kind of people, and when, are we good for them?
