Elizabeth is a gorgeous young woman with a lovely disposition but was raised in a very dysfunctional family in the 1880s. She is very strong-willed, courageous and self-reliant. She has little desire for the romantic sort of affection, especially since she had witnessed severe emotional and even some physical abuse much of her youth due to her father’s awful temper and her parents’ toxic relationship. However, in the midst of her complex family dynamic, she strived for more, knowing there was a beautiful and wonderful world out there filled with adventure. If she could just endure the situation until her precious younger siblings became adults, since she felt she needed to protect them from her tyrannical father, she would be free to finally pursue her own dreams. It had been hard trying to keep peace in the home, but somehow, she managed, well eventually at least. Unfortunately, things were about to go from bad to worse, until a handsome stranger appears and changed everything in the most unexpected ways. Was he what she needed, the quintessential hero that would ride off into the sunset with her, leaving her sorrows behind? Or, would a promise she made to her fragile mother, prevent anything meaningful to develop? When they steal moments alone, away from watchful eyes, their intense sexual tension is palpable. She seeks refuge in him, as they both escape to their own beautiful secret world, a place they cannot stay in forever.

  • Mississippi Goddamn
    Jonathan Norton
“Some shows have warnings for strobe lights. Some have them for loud gunshots.  Some for smoke.   MISSISSIPPI GODDAMN, a new play by Jonathan Norton should have one for intensity.   Granted, anyone attending a play about civil rights pioneer Medgar Evers set in 1963 Jackson, Mississippi, should expect some strife. Blood in the battle for racial equality is no surprise, but f...

  • The Lady From Maxim’s
    Georges Feydeau / Laurence Senelick
“It seems to me that for fertility in droll inventions, the perpetual outpouring of unforeseen misunderstandings, for the inexhaustible gaiety of dialogue, Feydeau’s new play is superior to everything he’s written so far. The most astonishing thing is the sureness with which everything is controlled, explained, justified, in the most extravagant buffoonery. The cross-purpose...
