In the early hours of a cold New Years’ Eve morning in 1977, gunfire rang out and a blood-curdling scream could be heard through the house. The scream was followed by another sound of gunfire, and then there was complete silence. A bloodthirsty psychotic killer who was supposed to be a husband and a friend had taken the lives of two people that were dearly loved that morning. The front page of the local paper called it a double homicide, and before the presses had been stopped to run this story, one young women’s dreams and hopes had been taken away by a bloodthirsty killer. The women’s life would have to be rewoven into a piece of fabric that she didn’t recognize and would become quite a task to sew it into any garment that she could possibly wear. The woman would have to learn how to live in this new kind of normal that has been put before her by no choice of her own. This new normal she would find would only be temporary because there would be more tragedy that she would have to endure in time to come.
