’De Nieuwe Politiek´ bespreekt de grondslagen van de democratie en de wijze waarop het in Nederland wordt toegepast. Door discussie in het publieke domein komt men tot een waarheid. In onze democratie is die meerderheid niet gebaseerd op de numerieke meerderheid maar op de meerderheid in het publieke domein. Door nu de gewone burger uit te sluiten van het debat wordt hij een minderheid en zal de samenleving hem niet representeren. Het boek geeft argumenten aan de ’zwijgende meerderheid’ die niet zozeer zwijgt omdat ze het overal mee eens is, maar zwijgt omdat ze niet de beschikking hebben over de juiste argumenten en zo overbluft worden door de heersende elite, waardoor zij een minderheid zijn in het publieke domein en daardoor weinig invloed kunnen uitoefenen op de wijze waarop de samenleving nu en in de toekomst zou moeten worden ingericht. Daarnaast geeft het boek een verklaring en mogelijke oplossingen voor het democratische tekort.
