Baby Boomer Baseball Volume II

Mantle swings and that ball is gone and is still raising! I think it is out of Yankee Stadium! Oh my God, it hit the façade with a thud just below the top of the façade!'When I heard the Yankee game announcer screaming these words, in May of 1963, I sat on my bed in tears of awe. The ball caromed off the façade nearly 400 feet away and soared almost 120 feet high, with an echo that sounded like a cannon at Gettysburg. A few precious inches were all that separated Mickey from being immortal. In Baby Boomer Baseball Vol.2, Robert Kravetz highlights Mantle’s 1956 Triple Crown season and the 1961 chase of Babe Ruth’s 60 home run record by Roger and Mickey. He reminisces about the All-Star Hall of Fame players of 50’s and 60’s : Mays, Aaron, Koufax, Williams, Yogi, Ford, Musial, Duke, Campy, Jackie, Banks, Spahn, Mathews and so many others. Who your favorite hero? This volume is sure to take you back to your beautiful childhood.
