O folclore / costumes locais e a interculturalidade / inculturação estão relacionados com o estudo do presépio, que adquire significado na época do Natal. Para além disso, o estudo dos presépios tem interesse para a preservação e valorização da competência cultural e religiosa como elemento de representação dos acontecimentos bíblicos na época do Natal.O autor apresenta esta ligação a partir desta dupla perspetiva resultante da sua biografia escolar. Este contexto é visto como um enriquecimento das perspectivas dos estudos sobre o presépio. De seguida, aborda-se em primeiro lugar a história do presépio, os conceitos e os costumes do presépio no Tirol.
