Marques Vickers
This edition profiles and documents some of America’s most infamous serial killers and unsolved murders. More pointedly, in most of the chapters, you are transported to the actual killing site where the homicides occurred. The updated editions are also important to keep the victims’ legacies fresh and significant to a society often numbed by the frequency of violence and sensationalist murders. The private trauma remains fresh to the immediate victim’s families, friends and diverse relationships. The ghosts of recollection are prevalent, searing and painful. They never recede. For the innocent victims of homicides, their stilled voices are silenced, but their identities and legacies should never be forgotten. The cases profiled include:NORTHERN CALIFORNIA:Zodiac Killer, Dorothea Puente, The Zebra Killers, Juan Corona, The Trailside Killer, Jim Jones and the People’s Temple, Richard Trenton and Santa Rosa Hitchhiking MurderersCENTRAL CALIFORNIA:Edmund Kemper III, Speed Freak Killers, Herbert Mullin and Jose Manuel MartinezSOUTHERN CALIFORNIA:Charles Manson, Efren Saldivar, Heaven’s Gate Mass Suicide, Lawrence Bittaker and Roy Norris, Rodney Alcala, Hillside Strangler Duo, Richard Ramirez, Golden State Killer and Jon David GuerreroPORTLAND, OREGON:The Dark Strangler, Michele Dee Gates, Randall Woodfield, Smiley Face Killer, Scott William Cox and Homer Lee JacksonSALEM, OREGON:Richard Marquette, Women’s Shoe Fetish Killer and William Scott SmithNEWPORT, OREGON:Bobby Jack FowlerEUGENE OREGON:John Charles BolsingerMILWAUKEE, OREGON:Dayton Leroy RogersSEATTLE METRO, WASHINGTON:Green River Killer, Morris Frampton and Ted BundyBELLEVUE, WASHINGTON:George Russell, Jr.TACOMA, WASHINGTON:Jake Bird and Lee MalvoOLALLA, WASHINGTON:Linda Burfield HazzardLONGVIEW, WASHINGTON:Joe KondroVANCOUVER, WASHINGTON:Warren ForrestBELLINGHAM, WASHINGTON:Kenneth BianchiSPOKANE, WASHINGTON:Donna Perry and Robert Lee YatesWASHINGTON D.
